Private sessions with Climbing Coach Justen Sjong are the best way to improve very specific climbing skills and test them through fitness routines. Coach Sjong will complete a full evaluation to determine the ideal places to make positive changes in your climbing and gear each session to your precise needs. He will provide homework after each session and he expects you to spend time working on those tasks.

  • Coach Justen Sjong tailors 1 On 1 sessions to address your personal climbing goals and skills. (If you are interested in boosting your training intensity level, a group class is a better choice.

     

    Day 1 The goal of the first session is to complete an evaluation of your climbing. He will build a rapport and create a verbal game plan.

     

    Day 2+ There are many tools that I incorporate into our sessions, depending on what your needs are.

     

    Here are a few:

    • Heart-rate monitor – helps us gain a sense of how hard your body is working while climbing. We will use it to help prolong the time before you fail.
    • Video analysis – allows us to see various climbing situations and challenges and figure out the solution together.
    • Systems board – helps us break down and refine a skill.
    • Workout routines – these are personalized to your issues and enable us to improve those skills.
    • Climbing routines – through repetition, climbing routines help you make changes to your climbing.
